ABOUT ANDY

Hi, thanks for viewing my profile and considering therapy together.

I have worked in the therapeutic field full-time for eight years primarily with anxiety and depression difficulties in the NHS.

My main therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in which I am a fully qualified and accredited member of the BABCP (www.cbtregisteruk.com). On top of this I have three years of training in Integrative Counselling skills.

My experience and extensive training has given me confidence in making sense of personal distress and the knowledge to know what is needed to alleviate it. I specialise in working with anxiety and depressive difficulties such as social anxiety, panic disorder, generalised anxiety, health anxiety, OCD, PTSD, phobias, low self-esteem, depression and low mood. CBT is the NICE recommended treatment for these difficulties so entering therapy with myself you can be assured that the treatment is effective and ethical.

My therapy style is to create a safe environment for you so we can work collaboratively by making sense of the difficulty and then looking at ways to change. I enjoy an active approach to therapy by trying new things out in the session which you can take out to the real world and hopefully see a positive impact on your life.

A lovely compliment I have had from a client is that I am 'down to earth and affable' and for me this is a really important aspect of my personality that I try to bring to my therapy sessions. Therapy can be such a daunting process so I try my best to make the process as easy and safe as possible and for me being human and relatable is crucial to that.

Well done on making the first step in looking for support and please do get in touch

ABOUT JOSH

My name is Joshua and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP Accredited). I have trained and worked in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the NHS and offer evidence-based psychotherapy for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties such as; social anxiety, healthy anxiety, generalised anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), low self-esteem and trauma (such as; PTSD).

I work with adults (18+) using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) - a short-term model of psychotherapy that can vary from 4-20 sessions. The amount of sessions depends on the problem presented and what is agreed for, during the assessment.

I am empathic, compassionate and believe in the importance of building a trusting relationship with my clients. I am incredibly passionate about the work I do which is reflected in the high-quality therapy that I provide.
