WHAT IS CBT?

CBT helps us understand how our beliefs about ourselves can lead to patterns of thinking and behaving which may maintain symptoms of anxiety and depression. Using techniques it helps change some of these unhelpful patterns which in turn reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS CBT?

For anxiety and depression, CBT is very effective which is why it is the NICE recommended treatment for the majority of NHS mental health services. Further information here- https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

We can provide a rough estimate of sessions after assessment, for most anxiety difficulties between 6-12 tend to be suffice.

WHY DO YOU ONLY OFFER VIDEO THERAPY?

The pandemic really influenced this, both of us went from working in person to video therapy. We were both surprised about how positive this experience has been despite early reservations! Feedback from clients is that video therapy is flexible, cheaper, no travel time and can feel safer doing therapy in the comfort of their home.
